As for my set up, the black board is just a plate for mounting the motor and my anchor pole. The pole goes through that box on top of the plate. I didn’t have it installed for the pictures. The V-lock is mounted to an aluminum bar which is bolted to the plate. That will stay on the kayak. The black pieces mounted to the V-lock are actually hinged in case I hit a stump or something while on the water. -- Bob
